Letter From Our Board

Dear Friends of the Lehigh Valley Humane Society,

Since our founding in 1906, The Lehigh Valley Humane Society has pioneered the way for the humane movement in Pennsylvania.. Over the past 117 years, our mission has remained the same, providing compassionate animal welfare and education to the best of our ability.  We're focused on doing amazing work for the amimals in our community - rescuing from dire circumstances, health and behavioral rehabilitation, and rehoming. Last year was our best year yet, adopting 1,110 animals into Lehigh Valley families and beyond!

Our service of that mission has evolved because of your support, paving the way for the decades ahead.

2022 Highlights:

  • $3.8M Facility Renovation - Congratulations to our team led by CEO & President Hal Warner, Building Chair Gerald Roba, leadership team, and staff for completing on budget and on schedule, all while maintaining our services to the community.  This is one of the most significant accomplishments in our history. Special thanks to Alvin H. Butz, Inc. for their support throughout the project.

  • Rebranding - Name, Logo, and Website to the Lehigh Valley Humane Society

  • Execution of our three flagship Community events - Garden Party, Golf Tournament, and Community Day

  • $350k+ in veterinary care financial assistance to keep pets healthy and with their families

  • Successful advocacy for the banning of declawing procedures for domestic cats, making us only the second city in Pennsylvania to enact such legislation.

  • Expansion of our Veterinary Clinical team and capabilities

  • Established Certified Dog Training team

  • Established Grooming Services

  • Established Board Committees and strong pipeline of Advisory Directors

It is an exciting time to be a part of this organization, and we invite you to join us on our journey.  Please visit our website, then tour our facility. Adopt a new family member, have that dog trained by our Certified Dog Training Team, groomed by our Certified Dog Grooming Team, and receive feline and canine health care that fits your budget with our Veterinarians and Clinical Team.

We have giving and volunteer opportunities available on an ongoing basis.  However you can help, we’re grateful for your partnership. It takes a village for positive change, and we look forward to venturing on this journey together.

With Gratitude,

The Lehigh Valley Humane Society Board of Directors
