Noelle’s Story

“Noelle is a four-year old retriever / hound mix that we adopted about a year before signing up for the Humane Society’s group training class. She’s a great dog that is very loving within her family, but was suspicious of strangers and overly aggressive when she met other dogs on leash.

Lucas first taught us the best way for dogs to meet, and using the “side-to-side” walking method, Noelle was effortlessly comfortable with her classmates immediately; we were amazed!

Over the course of 6 weeks Lucas taught us how to better capture Noelle’s attention as she learned “Look”, “Down”, “Come”, “Place” and “Stay”. We have been able to use her improved focus to make walks in the park much more enjoyable for all of us.

After a couple of weeks of the dogs getting comfortable with each other, Lucas allowed the dogs to enjoy a few one-to-one playing sessions with the other dogs, at which Noelle was fine, to our great relief. The training class met & exceeded our expectations of helping Noelle become a much better behaved dog!”
